A two-story 1,600 square foot residence in Harlem, New York. Occupying the upper floors of a Romanesque Revival townhouse, the design of this two-bedroom apartment combines a minimalist aesthetic with historic details. The apartment takes advantage of abundant natural light through a large skylight, terrace doors and new window openings. The L shaped kitchen creates living zones on the upper floors. Materials include locally sourced white oak floors, green certified tile, LED lighting, spray foam insulation and energy efficient heat pumps for heating and cooling.
